It never occurred to me that she wouldn't always be there. In fact, I took for granted that she would be, in denial of the natural cycle of life.
After she passed away, I was left wishing I had more portraits of the woman who shaped me. This experience taught me the priceless value of each memory we create and the significance of honoring each moment we have.
Now, as a proud mother to a talkative little boy, I'm constantly asking questions about my mother’s journey and thinking about the legacy and generational heirlooms I want to leave for him.
The story behind why I photograph begins with my mother, my Superwoman, who was always behind the camera but rarely in front.

My work is fueled by this sense of urgency: to help people honor who they are now, preserve their unique story for the present and for future generations, and feel empowered through the power of a portrait.

It’s more than just an image.
My photoshoot with Imiivo Photo Studios surpassed my expectations. I am still in awe of the photos taken during my photoshoot. I find myself going back to the photos and wondering who is the woman in the pictures?
Then I remind myself that the woman in the pictures is me!
Shané was so professional and patient. Her pre-photoshoot welcome package and wardrobe consultation helped me to prepare and made me feel good about doing something for myself.
The final product simply wowed me and reinforced that there are "camera phone" pictures and then there are "professional" pictures. The finished product of the professional pictures was absolutely worth it, and I had fun during the session.
Shané has a way of coaching you through and making you feel at ease. I look forward to booking future sessions.
